A Daily Walk With My Lhasa Apsos in Luoto, Finland

Life with dogs is built around small, quiet moments — the kind that don’t always make it into training videos or grooming sessions, but still shape our everyday rhythm. Today’s video is one of those moments: a peaceful walk with Pixie, Siiri, and our puppy Ruth here in our home municipality of Luoto.

Luoto is a unique place. It’s an island community on the west coast of Finland, where every part of the municipality sits on islands rather than the mainland. Even though we live in Finland, about ninety percent of the residents speak Swedish as their first language. Because my friends and acquaintances come from both language groups, creating content in English has become the easiest way to share our dog life with everyone.

During our walk we pass familiar places from our daily routine — the brand‑new kindergarten, the small camping area, the lakeside cabins, and our nearest public beach. These are the places we walk past almost every day, and they form the backdrop of our dogs’ lives as they grow, learn, and explore.

But the heart of this video is the dogs.
Pixie, enthusiastic and active, always ready to move forward.
Siiri, light on her feet with her short coat.
And Ruth, still discovering the world with puppy curiosity.

These walks are where structure, movement, and temperament show themselves naturally. They’re also where the bond between handler and dog grows strongest — not through big events, but through repetition, routine, and shared quiet moments.

If you enjoy Lhasa Apsos, responsible breeding, dog structure and movement, or simply everyday life with dogs, I hope you enjoy this video.
Thank you for joining us on this peaceful walk.

The Hardest Part of Loving Dogs

Breeding and owning dogs is a journey filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories. But alongside all the wonderful moments comes one of the hardest truths we dog lovers must face: saying goodbye.

This summer has been especially difficult for us at Yarmilan. Within just one month, we had to part with three beloved members of our family.
